SHORT HILLS II

This modern house was a departure from the traditional style of new homes in the area. One of the main challenges was that the property entered from a busy thoroughfare, but the depth of the property allowed for a substantial setback from the road. Although the front looks open and inviting with it’s expansive areas of glass, these areas are primarily circulation space that connect the living spaces oriented to the more bucolic backyard.

The interior features open spaces and well considered materials and finishes. Energy efficient systems and appliances were employed throughout.
